Memory-driven movement model for periodic migrations

چکیده
We propose a model for memory-based movement of an individual. The dynamics are modeled by stochastic differential equation, coupled with eikonal whose potential depends on the individual’s memory and perception. Under simple periodic environment, we discover that both long short-term appropriate time scales essential producing expected migrations.

A Data-Driven Model of Pedestrian Movement
We present a method for simulating individual pedestrian motion based on empirical data. Our model keeps track of the pedestrian’s position and body confi guration (pose) and uses motion capture data to produce plausible motion. While our ultimate goal is creating 3D animations of crowds, our initial efforts focus on 2D simulations. In this paper, we present a 2D model for an able-bodied male. ...
متن کاملA seasonal periodic long memory model for monthly river flows
Based on simple time series plots and periodic sample autocorrelations, we document that monthly river ow data display long memory, in addition to pronounced seasonality. In fact, it appears that the long memory characteristics vary with the season. To describe these two properties jointly, we propose a seasonal periodic long memory model and t it to the well-known Fraser river data (to be obta...
متن کاملMemory and Network Aware Scheduling of Virtual Machine Migrations∗
Live-migration has become a common operation on virtualized infrastructures. Indeed, it is widely used by resource management algorithms to distribute the load between servers and to reduce energy consumption [1, 2]. Operators rely also on migrations to prepare production servers for critical maintenance by relocating their running VMs elsewhere. To apply new VM placement decisions, livemigrati...
متن کاملInfluence of Pacing by Periodic Auditory Stimuli on Movement Continuation: Comparison with Self-regulated Periodic Movement
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of external pacing with periodic auditory stimuli on the control of periodic movement. [Subjects and Methods] Eighteen healthy subjects performed self-paced, synchronization-continuation, and syncopation-continuation tapping. Inter-onset intervals were 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 ms. The variability of inter-tap intervals was compa...
متن کاملFunctional neuroimaging of the interference between working memory and the control of periodic ankle movement timing
BACKGROUND Limited information processing capacity in the brain necessitates task prioritisation and subsequent adaptive behavioural strategies for the dual-task coordination of locomotion with severe concurrent cognitive loading. Commonly observed strategies include prioritisation of gait at the cost of reduced performance in the cognitive task. Alternatively alterations of gait parameters suc...
